5-Amino-1-methylquinoline chloride is an enzyme that is overexpressed during skeletal muscle aging, associated with repairing NAD+ pathway damage, dysregulated sirtuin1 activity, and increased muscle stem cell senescence. It promotes myoblast differentiation in vitro and enhances the fusion and regeneration of muscle stem cells in aged mice. Additionally, it is a potent inhibitor of nicotinamide N-methyltransferase (NNMT), selectively binding to residues at the NNMT substrate-binding site. NNMT, a newly discovered cytosolic enzyme, regulates the levels of nicotinamide precursors necessary for NAD+ biosynthesis, playing a crucial role in modulating the NAD+ salvage pathway. 5-Amino-1-methylquinoline chloride also acts on your microbiome to reduce fat tissue.
